Pinealon - Synthesized Brain Peptide
Pinealon is a dietary supplement with а synthesized brain peptide. It normalizes the function of the brain by reducing its peptide deficiency and restoring protein synthesis inside its cells.
Pinealon is recommended for everyone whose brain may be compromised, especially elderly people and those with poor memory, attention difficulties, brain injury, stroke, brain surgery, high stress, chronic fatigue, depression, insomnia, irritability or diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuralgia, neuritis, encephalopathy and demyelinating disease. It also helpful for people whose professional activity requires full attention.
Pinealon can be easily combined with other supplements and medicines and should be used in addition to conventional medical treatments.
Biologically active food supplement Pinealon is a peptide complex containing amino acids glutamine, asparagine and arginine, and normalizing performance of brain tissue.
Pinealon is manufactured in the form of tablets or capsules containing 0.100 mg of an active ingredient.
Experimental studies in the organotypic brain tissue culture showed, that Pinealon is capable of stimulating proliferative and functional activity of the main cellular elements of the tissue culture, reducing spontaneous cell death rate, enhancing regenerative-adaptive processes in proliferating and differentiating cells. The peptide substance exerts trophic and stabilizing action on morphological preservation and regeneration of brain tissue, improving its functions.
Experimental investigation of Pinealon biological effects in animals demonstrated, that its administration not only improves certain indices of cellular and tissue homeostasis in brain cells, but also normalizes the disordered functions of the central nervous system as a whole, affected by stress, adverse environmental factors and/or development of age-related pathology.
The prevention and treatment of central nervous system disorders and conditions are big issues, because the said diseases lead to disturbance of social adaptation and incapacitation of patients.
Pinealon clinical effectiveness has been evaluated in 109 patients aged 30-74 years and suffering different central nervous system disorders and conditions, such as: the remote consequences of craniocerebral injury, post-stroke state of health, vascular encephalopathy, and also on practically healthy subjects, complaining fatigue, signs of cerebral asthenia, decreased mental capacity and concentration, memory impairment, emotional fragility. Distribution of patients by nosologic forms, gender and age is presented in the Table 7.
72 patients from the main group were prescribed Pinealon alongside with the conventional medicine, 2 capsules with meals 2 times a day, for 20-30 days, depending on the severity of a pathological process. The control group consisted of 38 patients with similar health problems, who underwent only conventional treatment.
All subjects used to receive medicinal drugs of symptomatic and pathogenetic action, bringing a short-term therapeutic effect followed by the demand to increase the dose per course of treatment as well as to extend the duration of its application.
The effectiveness of Pinealon administration was estimated both with respect to dynamics of subjective indices, as well as according to objective indices, such as correction test and electroencephalogram (EEG).
The comparison made between the subjective indices of patients’ status before and after Pinealon treatment revealed the 2-3 fold decrease in the frequency of health complaints. Patients noted an improvement of memory and brightness, decreased intensity and duration of headaches, they felt emotionally stable and rested after night sleep (Table 8).
Those patients who suffered consequences of craniocerebral injury and stroke revealed a moderate regress of focus symptomatology, improvement of speech function at motor and sensory aphasia, reduction of fibrous spasticity.
The comparative evaluation of Pinealon effect and other methods of treatment on integral brain functions, such as concentration of attention, as well as on bioelectrical brain activity was carried out employing correction test and electroencephalogram, respectively.
Results of correction test performance by patients treated with different methods are presented in the Table 9. It demonstrates that patients treated with Pinealon could look through a significantly bigger number of characters with fewer mistakes. Patients of the main group revealed better dynamics of correction test results before and after treatment, as compared to control group subjects. Namely, they showed no more sharp fluctuations in the number of characters they looked through within equal periods of time; presence of work absorption period by the middle of the test; gradual decrease of the curve towards the end of the test, evidencing more balanced attention after Pinealon treatment.
Computer game "NEMO" simulating operational activity of management specialist was used for studying Pinealon effect on professional efficiency, estimated on the basis of various norms, characterizing the accuracy and speed of working operations execution. The comparative analysis of test results for psycho-physiological indices characterizing quality and accuracy of working functions in a modeled environment showed that Pinealon application during 20 days resulted in the improvement of operator’s working capacity. For instance, the integral index of working capacity increased from 326.1 ± 15.3 to 375.7 ± 13.6 as compared to the initial value, and the index of "accuracy of target hitting" increased from 6.8 ± 0,9 to 10.5 ± 0.7.
The study of Pinealon effect on psycho-emotional status was conducted with the help of computer program "Operative status control" and psychological tests, such as “SAN” (“status of health, activity, mood”), Spielberger-Hanin test, and Luscher color test to estimate health status, activity, mood, situation-dependant (reactive) anxiety, as well as total deviation, vegetative coefficient, emotional stress, mental fatigue, mental tension and anxiety. Study results showed that patients with emotional imbalance improved all 11 indices of the above mentioned tests after a course of Pinealon (20 days).
Therefore, the results of clinical study evidence a positive effect of Pinealon on psycho-emotional state, memory, concentration of attention and professional activity in healthy subjects revealing symptoms of weariness and cerebral asthenia as well as in patients suffering central nervous system functional disorders of various genesis.
In the course of Pinealon clinical trials, no contraindications, complications, side effects or drug addiction were revealed.
Ingredients (per 1 capsule): peptide AC-5 (arginine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid). Inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose (E460), beetroot sugar, lactose, starch, Tween-80.
Contraindications: an individual tolerance of components, pregnancy, lactation
Recommendations for application: adult men 1-2 capsules. 1-2 times a day during meals.
Receiving duration: one month, repeat every 4-6 months.
INTRODUCTION TO SYNTHETIC PEPTIDES
The Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology (SPIBG) of the North-Western Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences for years has been developing a special approach to a new class of peptide-based supplements. As a result of the analysis of the amino-acidic sequence of peptides extracted from organs and tissues, physiologically active short peptides have been developed and later defined as a class of cytogenes, also known as the synthesized short peptides.
